Seena Living: Bringing AI-Enabled Visibility to a 30-Year Family Nursery Business
How a family-run nursery furniture manufacturer eliminated manual shipment tracking, cut clerical errors to zero, and gave leadership real-time visibility across every shipment.
the challenge
Growing faster than the process behind it
Family-run for over 30 years, Seena Living (formerly Tasman Eco) has built a trusted nursery furniture brand sold direct to families and through major Australian stockists. But behind that brand, logistics ran almost entirely by hand.
Every update from factories and freight forwarders had to be manually read, extracted, and filed, costing the team 5 to 10 hours a week on its own. Shipment data, payment logs, and supplier documents lived scattered across Gmail, OneDrive, and spreadsheets, with no single source of truth.
Without a live dashboard, the team had to rely on manual checks for ETAs, payments, and container statuses, which slowed planning and forecasting. And because none of it was automated, the process depended heavily on Steven and the sourcing team personally, capping how far the business could scale without adding headcount.
“I was basically chained to my inbox: two hours a day just answering the same questions over and over.”
Our Discovery
Finding the real bottleneck
In the AI Audit and discovery session, it became clear that Seena Living’s growth wasn’t limited by product quality, market knowledge, or team effort. All three were already strong. The constraint was structural: without a system connecting the inbox, the file system, and the tracking spreadsheet, every shipment depended on someone manually noticing, reading, and re-entering the same information by hand.
Given everything Steven and the team have already built over 30 years, the opportunity wasn’t to add more people. It was to give the existing team more leverage: a system that handles the repetitive admin so leadership can focus on supplier strategy and growth.
implementation
Built without disrupting the day-to-day
The system was scoped as a two-phase build: shipment tracking automation first, then a live dashboard on top of it, delivered over eight weeks. The team communicated clearly throughout, with no disruption to how Seena Living actually operates day to day.
Rather than a single tool bolted onto the inbox, the build connected the inbox, the document store, and the tracking spreadsheet into one pipeline, so information only had to be entered once.
“The team communicated well the whole way through, always upfront about timelines and what was happening next. It went in without disrupting how we actually work day to day."

““The team communicated well the whole way through, always upfront about timelines and what was happening next. It went in without disrupting how we actually work day to day. Now the shipment data just tracks itself, and the errors we used to deal with from manual entry are basically gone. It’s given us real visibility we didn’t have before.”

key takeaways
01
Time poverty, not lack of process knowledge, was the real constraint. John already understood the workflow; the missing piece was a system connecting it end to end.
02
A system beats a spreadsheet. The value here wasn’t a nicer tracker; it was a connected pipeline: reading, filing, syncing, and a live dashboard, each doing one job well.
03
Zero-error outcomes build trust fast. Eliminating clerical and double-entry errors mattered as much to leadership as the hours saved.
04
The real ROI is leverage, not headcount. Seena Living didn’t need to hire to scale; it needed the existing team working at full capacity.
